We had a little game of spot the difference.
The much anticipated iPhone 13 is finally here, and we can confirm that it was absolutely worth the wait.
It joined three other devices at Apple’s latest event: iPhone 13 mini, 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max.
Now on first glance, you might not notice too many differences between iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 so we decided to play our own little game of spot the difference.
Let’s just say, this was our most successful yet. Here are 10 of the biggest differences between iPhone 12 and iPhone 13.
1) All new colours.
Now we know it’s not all about looks and we have to focus on the inside too, but we’ll get to that later.
Right now, we’re looking at iPhone 13 with love heart eyes – like the ones you see in films. iPhone 12 was stunning to look at, don’t get us wrong and the colour variants made it impossible to make a choice.
We had white which looked almost angelic and restored our faith in that old saying less is more.
Black let us keep things classic, while blue kept things cool. Purple and (PRODUCT)RED let us add a splash of colour to our lives and brighten thing up.
iPhone 13 however, completely changes the game. We’ve got new colours that really give this iPhone a sparkle – literally.
Drum roll please… Like iPhone 12, the latest iPhone comes in gorgeous (PRODUCT)RED which is as beautiful as we remember. It’s a bold choice that’s complimented perfectly by iPhone 13’s sleek design.
If you prefer to keep things a little safer, midnight is the perfect choice. It gives it that well-polished look.

Starlight is the last of the bunch and we think it pretty much speaks for itself. It glistens every time the light hits it. Its whole name in fact sounds like something out of a fantasy film and we’re here for it.
2) Enjoy iPhone 13 for longer.
iPhone 13 has a number of incredible features that require long-lasting battery life, and it has just that.
You can enjoy iPhone 13 for up to 2.5 hours longer than iPhone 12, making it the obvious choice for those of you who spend your time scavenging the dark areas of Netflix all day long.
iPhone 13 has up to 19 hours of video playback and up to 15 hours of video streaming playback which is an improvement compared to iPhone 12.
iPhone 12 boasts 17 hours of video playback and up to 11 hours of streaming video playback, which is still plenty to enjoy, but not quite as much as iPhone 13.
3) Let there be light.
iPhone 13 camera has had a huge revamp and while the number of lenses hasn’t changed from iPhone 12, there are a whole bunch of improvements.
The 12MP main camera has the biggest sensor ever used in a dual-camera on iPhone – which is major.
Apple have shared that this whopper will let in 47% more light than iPhone 12 which will enhance the sharpness in your photos.
The 12MP ultra-wide lens has had a makeover too and delivers more detail in the darker areas of your images – meaning you can’t hide anything!
Shakey hands are a thing of the past too with built in optical image stabilization. We saw this on iPhone 12 Pro Max last year, but its been welcomed with open arms to iPhone 13.
4) A diagonal approach.
This next difference may be a small change, but we’re loving it. Apple have repositioned the rear camera lenses on iPhone 13.
Introducing the all-new diagonal alignment. You may think this change is pointless or a way of Apple making sure it looks different to iPhone 12 – but it’s much more than that.
This diagonal arrangement actually ensures that both horizontal and vertical scene photos have more depth – whether you’re taking landscape shots or epic portraits.
5) Processing power.
You’ll have heard all about Apple’s latest chip and if you haven’t then it’s definitely worth hearing about.
We were all blown away by the A14 Bionic in iPhone 12 but it seems Apple have taken it one step further.
Introducing the A15 Bionic. A chip that makes everything better, faster and easier. With 15 billion transistors, A15 Bionic surpasses the 11.8 billion used in A14 Bionic.

7) Operation systems a go.
iOS 15 is the update we have all been waiting for. iOS 14 brought us a whole bunch of features that we know and love, like widgets, a new app library, a hack that tells you when apps are spying on you and so much more.
iOS 15 is the latest version of Apple’s incredible software and comes readily installed in your iPhone 13.

8) Did iPhone gain a little weight?
There’s nothing wrong with a little weight gain – unless you like a lighter iPhone of course. With all these great new features, iPhone 13 is a little heavier than iPhone 12.
iPhone 12 weighs 162g whereas iPhone 13 weighs 174g. To put it into perspective, the difference is equivalent to an AAA battery.
While it’ll be barely noticeable at all, it’s definitely worth noting if you’re after a lighter model.
9) Room for everything.
iPhone 13 has a starting storage allowance of 128GB compared to the 64GB on iPhone 12. This gives you more storage but for less – giving you more room for the things you love.
The new model also comes with a 256GB and 512GB option, for those of you who bombard your iPhone with dog photos and endless videos of food.
10) What’s the price?
This is the question every one wants answers to. At launch, iPhone 12 was £799 and iPhone 13 is priced at £799 too.
