This feature frees up your other hand for a cup of tea, or a glass of wine…

We all love a huge screen on a mobile. It makes for better Netflix binging, an easier nosey at Facebook, and a better chance of thrashing opponents on the latest games.

The problem is, sometimes the screens are so big that both of our hands are occupied trying to work it.

Luckily for you, Samsung have devised a feature that takes away this stress and gives you the best of both worlds. One-handed mode works by temporarily scaling down the size of your screen, so you can enjoy easier control of your mobile – turns out you can have it all!

Lockdown has created mayhem in our lives, and we think this feature is perfect for making things a little less stressful. You’ll be able to free up your other hand and multitask with ease, whether that’s helping the kids or enjoying a well-deserved tea break – or something stronger.

We’ve devised a handy guide to help you understand this feature, so you can take full advantage of all it has to offer!

Hey look, one hand!

This is not a brand new feature but it’s one that’s hidden away, and we don’t want you to miss out. Once you activate One-handed mode, your entire screen will shrink down and appear in one of the bottom corners of your mobile.

There are 5 easy steps that you can follow to get in on the one-handed action.

1)     Go to Settings on your Galaxy mobile phone.

2)     Select Advanced features.

3)     Go to Motions and gestures.

4)     Tap One-handed mode to turn it on.

5)     Tap Gesture to activate One-handed mode. Tap swiping up diagonally from either bottom corner.

You’ll now be able to activate One-handed mode by pulling up from the bottom of your screen. In the words of Professor Flitwick, a simple swish and flick should do it.

One-handed mode makes it so much easier to use your phone with one hand.

Of course, when you shrink down your screen, the keyboard gets smaller too. This might make it difficult to send messages and emails. Those people with dainty fingers will be alright but for those of us with chunkier sausage fingers, we’re going to struggle.

If you fall into this category, One-handed keyboard might be a more practical feature for you to explore. It works by moving the keyboard to the left or right side of your screen, so you can use it with one hand.

This is perfect if you’re busy cooking tea but are mid-chat with your friend and don’t want to leave the conversation! It’s also deal for those days when you have a hundred emails to send and need a cup of coffee in your other hand at all times.

To get started, there are 5 simple steps that you can follow.

1)     Open the keyboard.

2)     Tap the Options icon on the emoticon keyboard.

3)     Tap Modes.

4)     Select One-handed keyboard mode.

5)     Begin using your keyboard with one hand.

Multitask away!

Sometimes we don’t want to choose between the best view and a practical mobile, we simply want both. This is not greedy folks, and whatever some may say, you’re not asking for too much.

Samsung have really recognised this fact and delivered 2 features that’ll have you multitasking with ease, in no time. So, if you’re looking for a new phone with a stunning display and a UI that can be tailored to you, we suggest taking a look at our Samsung deals.
