Houston, we have lift off.
We all love a new Samsung launch. What’s not to love? Every event they deliver something better than the last time.
Their event way back in January unveiled three new incredible members to the Galaxy S series: Galaxy S21, S21 Plus and S21 Ultra.
With these three models came new camera tech, speedy 5G, dreamy and durable designs and so much more.
These phones have quickly made their mark on the mobile market and have become many of our customer’s favourites.
Okay, enough suspense building. Let's get down to what we're all really here for. Samsung have finally given us an event date for their upcoming mobile launch.
While names of devices haven't been revealed, the internet is convinced we'll be introduced to the much anticipated Samsung Galaxy S22.
Here’s everything Samsung has revealed about their event and everything the internet is saying about the rumoured Samsung Galaxy S22.
Event day details.
Samsung are calling this event the Epic Standard Galaxy Unpacked event. So, what we're taking from this is that whatever mobile is revealed, it's going to be epic, right?
The event will be live streamed on 9th February 2022 at 3pm and you can watch along with us.
We'll be sure to update this article with a direct link to the stream, so you don't miss a moment of the action!
Design and display revelations.
Reputable leaker, Ice Universe, seems to think that the standard Samsung Galaxy S22 is going to boast a 6.06-inch display, which is a step down from the S21’s 6.2-inch screen.
This source proceeds to say that the S22 Plus will have a 6.55-inch display, down from the 6.7-inch on the S21 Plus and the S22 Ultra will have a 6.81-inch display, up from the S21 Ultra’s 6.8-inch display.
TechRadar found that this claim was backed by another source who claims that the S22 series will come equipped with a whopping 120Hz refresh rate, which if true, will continue Samsung’s reign of producing epic entertainment mobiles.
This same source believes that we’ll see a FHD+ resolution on both the S22 and S22 Plus model and a impressive QHD+ on the S22 Ultra. If this is true, this resolution will change the way we see our favourite content.
Design rumours are always tricky, especially when this rumoured device is still a long way from release. The whispers around the way this mobile will look are likely to change over time, but that doesn’t stop the gossiping.
According to the GalaxyClub, the colours of the S22 will differ from the last models. They speculate that the S22 and S22 Plus will come in white, black, rose gold, and green. The S22 Ultra is rumoured to come in a choice of black, white, or dark red.
We’re crossing our fingers with this rumour – new phones and new colours? Yes please.
Ice Universe, a leaker spoken about above, have revealed their take on sizes when it comes to the S22.

They claim the Galaxy S22 will be 146 x 70 x 7.6mm and will weigh 167g, the S22 Plus, 157.4 x 75.8 x 7.6mm and 195g, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra, 163.3 x 77.9 x 8.9mm and 228g.
This would make the new models slightly smaller than their predecessors and possibly make for mobiles that fit better in the pocket of your tightest skinny jeans.
Camera revelations.
Now to the bit you’re all dying to hear about – the camera. TechRadar have stumbled upon a source that claims that the standard Galaxy S22 model and S22 Plus will have a 50MP main lens, a 12MP telephoto and a 12MP ultra-wide camera.
The same source claims that the S22 Ultra will have a 108MP main lens, a 12MP ultra-wide lens and not one, but two 12MP telephoto lenses.
You may have heard talks online about an under-display camera, but unfortunately for us, this same source believes this won’t be the case for any of the S22 models.
This being said, TechRadar have stumbled upon another source that claim the zoom potential on the new models may be the same as the one we know and love on the S21 range.
The S22 and S22 Plus are rumoured to have 3x optical zoom while the S22 Ultra is predicted to have both a 3x and a 10x optical zoom.
Like usual, this is just speculation, but we’re already excited to turn moments into memories when Samsung eventually unveil it.
Battery revelations.
According to @FrontTron, another reputable leaker, the S22 series will have batteries that differ to the S21.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 is apparently receiving a 3800mAh battery, the S22 Plus a 4600mAh battery and the S22 Ultra a 5000mAh battery.
This news isn’t quite a headliner, but the charging speed is certainly worth shouting about.
The trusty TechRadar again, have heart that Samsung are testing 45W or 65W powering, which would be a huge improvement when compared with the 25W on the S21 series.

This means you’ll be able to enjoy everything the S22 series has to offer and be boosted back up in no time if you lose any juice.
Name revelations.
We’ve been referring to this device as the Galaxy S22, but the truth is, we don’t know what it’ll be called.
Renders released by @OnLeaks have brought whispers to the internet regarding what the new devices will actually be named.
Rumour has it, they’ll actually be named the Samsung Galaxy S22, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy Note 22 Ultra.
We’re not sure they have the same ring to them as the S22, S22 Plus and S22 Ultra but nevertheless, we’re keeping open minded.
See you soon, Samsung.
