Google have only gone and done it again.

We all went mad for the Pixel 6 and being our true, impatient selves, we’ve been eager to see what’s next for Google.

At their recent event, Google unveiled their plans for the new Pixel 6a. We couldn’t wait to delve deep into its flagship features and after doing so, it gets an A from us.

It’s got everything we love about the Pixel 6 plus some additional treats. While we won’t be able to get our hands on it just yet, there’s no harm in discovering a little about it.

Design and display.

Google are renowned for their incredible designs and displays and the Pixel 6a is no exception.

The 6.1-inch OLED screen has a punch-hole-cut-out, giving you a more immersive viewing experience.

With summer fast approaching, we imagine you’ve got a few trips away planned, and it’ll soon be time to download Netflix originals to watch on the plane.

The Pixel 6a is the perfect mobile for this, plus with 1080 x 2400 resolution and HDR support, you’ll get the best view of your favourite characters.

Unlike many of the mobile phones on the market, the Google Pixel 6a packs an Always-on Display. A handy feature that’ll make checking your messages, the time and everything in between.

It’s not only the display that Google got right, they’ve once again nailed the design too.

The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 which makes it tougher. This is complimented beautifully by the tactile alloy frame which gives it a premium looking finish.

Throw in an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance and you’ve got a phone that looks good, feels good and can withstand what your day throws in your path.

Camera.

Google Pixel mobiles are widely loved for their cameras and for good reason too.

The new Pixel 6a boasts an incredible 12.2MP main sensor that is perfect for those point and shoot moments.

With fancy features like face blur, magic eraser and night sight, the Pixel 6a is the only tool you’ll need.

When you need to see more of a scene, the 12MP ultra-wide lens has you covered.

The front 8MP camera guarantees you flawless selfies that’ll spruce up your social media in no time.

If you’re more of a vlogger, 4K video recording will kickstart your YouTuber career in no time.

What's the battery capacity here? 4,410mAh, which according to Google will last for over a day of use. The charging speed is 30W.

Performance.

We say the Google Tensor chip on the Pixel 6 and we’re pleased to say that it’s here to stay.

Launch your apps, pages, images and more so much quicker, and watch everything run smoothly.

Pair it with 6GB of RAM and a whopping 128GB of storage and it’s plain sailing from there.

The adaptive battery is exactly that, adaptive. It quickly discovers your favourite apps and will save your battery on the apps you rarely use.

Extreme battery saver takes this one step further, and ensures you’ll never be without your mobile.

If you do run a little low, fast wired charging will get you boosted back up in no time. It really has it all.

When can I get mine?

Google have been a little cheeky with their Pixel 6a. Despite having announced it, we still have a few months to wait before we can see it in the flesh.

One thing we do know is that it will cost £399 – which is an absolute steal. When the day does come, you’ll be able to bag yours in chalk, sage or charcoal.

Don’t worry, we’ll be back updating this article with any pre-order information – so you don’t miss out on your chance to get yours.
