2021 is set to see some incredible additions to the mobile world. Or so the internet says!
COVID-19 has thrown some curveballs in 2020, but the mobile world has overcome its challenges and thrived. We’ve seen new 5G advancements, bigger displays than ever and designs almost as tough as you, the people, living in the UK.
Endless mobiles have been released and we’ve watched the Apple family grow to include four amazing new iPhones: iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
We’ve seen Samsung releases that have quickly become customer-favourites and for good reason too. The Samsung Galaxy S20 has appeared at the higher end of our top 10 mobiles list over the months, and you can’t seem to get enough of it.
It’s been a top year for all big brands and there are far too many amazing releases to name. The good news is that 2021 is set to see even more additions to the mobile world, and we want to share them with you.
2021: The year of the Samsung.
Samsung never fail to impress us, and this year was no exception to that. From the Galaxy Note 20 to the latest Galaxy S20 FE, they keep finding innovative ways to draw us in.
They listen to what their customers want and deliver every time. So, what may they have in store for us next year? Let’s take a look.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold E.
We’re feeling somewhat nostalgic about this one. Folding phones were once the craze and it sends us way back when. Rumour has it that Samsung is looking for folding phones that won’t break the bank (or themselves) – great news for those of us who’ve gone a little overboard this Christmas.
According to Sammobile, a report out of South Korea has suggested that we might see the Galaxy Z Fold E in 2021 and should prepare for pricing around £900. LetsGoDigital published some renders based on a Samsung patent that shows a folding device with a small notification slot on the front.
By the sounds of it, Samsung are cooking up something good and 2021 might be the year that we see a cheaper Fold model. It’s certainly piqued our interest; is it something you will be looking out for?
Samsung Galaxy S21.
As we’ve said previously, the Galaxy S20 was a huge hit with you lot but there’s now talks of a new Samsung member hitting the shops next year. Reputable leaker @UniverseIce, has referred to it as the Galaxy S21 – so we’re going with that!
According to leaks on Voice, this new addition will pack a 6.2-inch display with a single centred selfie camera, punch-hole cut out. Boy, that’s a mouthful! We don’t know heaps about this one, but if it’s anything like the S20, we know we’re in for something good.
What have Apple got up their sleeve?
This year, Apple amazed their fans by resurrecting their much loved iPhone SE. They delivered a pocket-rocket iPhone with a practical 4.7-inch display and the same powerful processor as their popular iPhone 11 Pro.
They made the impressive jump, sorry we should say leap, to 5G. With four new incredible iPhone 12 models, they left us completely spoiled for choice. So, you’re probably thinking the same as us right about now: how could they ever top this year?
iPhone SE 2 Plus.
For many of you, the fact that iPhone SE restored faith in the good small phone, is what will have sold you. If you loved everything about the SE except for its size, you may just be in luck.
The minute that the 2020 iPhone SE was announced, rumours began filling the air quicker than ever. Everyone was certain that there was going to be a bigger version and it’s looking like you might be onto something.
Nothing is confirmed and Apple has made no comment, but it seems that with the new iPhone 12 mini costing more than the SE, there may be a hole in the market that needs filling…
iPhone 13.
We’re all still trying to process the astonishing iPhone 12 series, but now we’re hearing talks of an iPhone 13. It’s not uncommon for these rumours to be circulating so soon after a release, it happens every single time.
A new iPhone, or in 2020’s case four new iPhones, are released and Apple fans go mad. They start imaging what Apple could come up with next and it seems that they’re hoping 2021 is the year of iPhone 13.
According to a report published by BGR, the next iPhone might feature an under-display Touch ID system – sounds super fancy! If we know Apple, they’ll keep us waiting right up until the event, but there’s nothing like a bit of suspense, right?
