Next year is the year of the tiger, and a bunch of roar-some new mobiles.
There’s a lot to look forward to in 2022. While Spider-Man No Way Home has only just hit cinemas, no spoilers we promise, we’re already eager for the new film next year.
Mission Impossible 7 is out. That’s right – there’s already been six of those films. Qatar will host the 2022 World Cup, where we’re all hoping for a better result than the Euros.
Holidays are expected to make a return meaning us Brits may finally have the chance to get our tan on or ski on if you’re into that sort of stuff.
But what does 2022 hold for the mobile world? You ask. And we’re certainly glad you did.
If there’s one thing that’s certain in this world, it’s that the rumours surrounding the big tech brands and their upcoming releases, will always be circulating the internet.
We’re not ones to gossip, but when it comes to new mobiles, we can’t help ourselves. And what sort of people would we be if we didn’t share everything, we’ve heard with you lovely people?
What’s cooking, Apple?
iPhone SE 3
Apple gave us a whole new iPhone SE back in 2020, now nicknamed the ‘pocket-rocket’ iPhone. But rumour has it that they have another iPhone SE in the works for 2022.
According to Ming-Chi Kui, a reputable analyst, we could be seeing iPhone SE 3 in the first half of 2022.
The internet is filled with whispers about the features of this rumoured device. One keen favourite being that iPhone SE 3 may be the first of its kind to get Face ID – with the previous models supporting Touch ID.
In true Apple fashion, iPhone SE 3 is predicted to have faster 5G, which isn’t all that shocking to us. iPhone 13 had more 5G bands than iPhone 12 so if Apple are to follow this pattern, we’re going to have to think of a nickname even more wild than ‘pocket-rocket’.
iPhone 14
This is the one that has ears pricking and eyes widening. The internet has wasted no time in talking about iPhone 14, just a few months after the release of their epic iPhone 13.
We’ve heard all sorts from many of our favourite reputable leakers. John Prosser is someone we talk about a lot when it comes to iPhone leaks and he has come through with iPhone 14 too.
In unofficial renders, Prosser released unofficial renders of what iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max may look like.
The camera notch has been removed and replaced with a punch-hole camera. This is complimented by a semi-glossy back and titanium sides. A rumour we’re super-excited about is one found on TechRadar.
TechRadar claim they have seen a patent themselves that shows a periscope camera on the rumoured iPhone 14. We’ve previously seen just how great a periscope camera is on the Galaxy S20 Ultra, so we have huge expectations in this sense.
Sweet Samsung surprises.
Samsung Galaxy S22.
This year saw the release of the epic Galaxy S21 series. We met the S21, S21 Plus and S21 Ultra and even now, almost a year on, these mobiles remain Android favourites.
As much as we’re all loving the S21, the wait for the S22 feels like an eternity.
While the rumoured S22 models are said to have smaller displays than the S21 series, TechRadar believe we will see FHD+ resolution on the S22 and S22 Plus and QHD+ resolution on the S22 Ultra.
GalaxyClub have given their take on what the design of the S22 will look like and it’s got us excited. They suspect that the S22 will be available in white, black, rose gold and green. The S22 Ultra is speculated to come in a choice of black, white or dark red.
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE.
This one is tricky to get our heads around. We’ve been talking about the S21 FE for what feels like forever, and despite there being talks about the S21 FE being released this year, it seems it’ll actually be next year.
It therefore feels a little strange calling it the S21 FE but we’re rolling with it. 91mobiles have given us their take on the performance of the rumoured Galaxy S21 FE.
They’ve brought a Geekbench listing to our attention that details specs that are said to belong to this future device.
The Snapdragon 888 chipset is on that list, the same processor found in the US variations of the Galaxy S21 range.
This chipset features Qualcomm’s latest X60 5G Modem which brings faster downloads, higher-quality streaming and more responsive gaming in an instant.
@OnLeaks, another reputable leaker who often gets it right, claims that the rumoured release will have a larger 6.4-inch display. This is an upgrade when compared to the 6.2-inch display on the Galaxy S21 back in January.
Bring it on 2022.
We’re hoping that 2022 will prove to be a better year than this year and with so much to look forward to, we’ve got high expectations.
We’re rumoured to see some incredible devices and we’re sure that even more will find their way onto the internet in no time.
If you can’t quite wait until next year for a new mobile, don’t worry. We’ve got a number of unmissable prices on the very best from Apple, Samsung and more. We’ll even deliver yours for free so you can enjoy it as soon as tomorrow.
