If you’re a Vodafone customer, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes to keep you connected.

Vodafone and Three have joined forces to create The Nation’s Network – bringing their mobile networks together to give customers access to more network infrastructure across the UK.

And this is just the start. With £11 billion being invested in the network, VodafoneThree is continuing to improve coverage, capacity and connectivity across the country.

So, what is The Nation’s Network?

Put simply, a mobile network is made up of thousands of sites around the UK. These are places where equipment sends and receives the signal your phone uses to call, text, browse, stream and use apps.

You might picture a traditional phone mast, but network equipment can also be found on rooftops and other structures.

By bringing Vodafone and Three's networks together, The Nation’s Network now has around 48,050 masts available to its customer base – making it the UK’s biggest mobile network infrastructure by number of masts. This figure is based on data valid as of 9 June 2026.

What does this mean for Vodafone customers?

It means there’s more network working behind your phone.

Vodafone and Three customers can automatically connect to the best available coverage across the combined network, with no extra charge. This has already helped improve coverage in areas where customers previously had limited or no service.

So whether you’re streaming your favourite playlist, scrolling TikTok, making a call, checking Google Maps or catching up on Netflix, there’s a bigger network working in the background to help keep you connected.

And it’s not just about having more masts. The network is also being upgraded to improve speed, capacity and reliability, with thousands of sites already upgraded as part of the investment programme.

VodafoneThree is targeting 99% 5G Standalone population coverage by 2030, increasing to 99.96% by 2034.

So, while most of the work is happening behind the scenes, the aim is simple: better connectivity in more places, now and in the years ahead.
