Made a mistake in a long message? Turn your cursing into a cursor!
There’s simply nothing worse than when you’ve written an email as long as your arm and you notice that autocorrect has changed a few words along the way. Instead of writing Dear Mrs Smith you’ve now written Dead Mrs Smith.
The poor woman is in the prime of her life and you’ve got her dead and buried already. There’s even simpler mistakes that have us sounding like idiots. Perhaps you see my changing to me all the time.
We don’t know about you, but this one drives us nuts. It makes you sound like a little leprechaun or something – ‘thanks for coming to me presentation.’ It’s an absolute nightmare. But not quite on a par with a certain profanity changing to duck…
Our point is that autocorrect, and of course human error, is inevitable sometimes and our emails, text messages, or social media posts may not always go right. The good news is, iPhone has a hack that’ll make correcting these errors a breeze.
There’s always space for improvement.
Okay, so we think the saying is actually there’s always room for improvement, but in this case, we’ll stick with space. iPhone users can now use the space bar on their keyboard to move the cursor to any position they want.
This is not a new feature, but it’s one that has only just come to light and it’s certainly something you’ll want to familiarise yourself with. Until recently, you could long-press anywhere on the keyboard to move your cursor, but a new update means it can only be done using the space bar.

This works on any of Apple’s gadgets running on iOS 12 or above, which is pretty much most people. To use it, simply press and hold the space bar, this will make the other keys disappear.
You can think of this blank surface as a mouse and move your finger around it, controlling the cursor. This way you can enjoy precise text control and edit whichever word you want to, without the hassle.
This is great news for those of you who are heavy handed, (or might have chubbier fingers than some!). You’ll finally be able to wave goodbye to pressing and holding words or waiting for little magnifying glasses to appear.
This feature gets even more useful and offers the option to take things to a deeper level… If you press and hold the space bar and direct the cursor to the word or paragraph you want to change, you can then use another finger to tap on said text and it will highlight it.

The global pandemic has forced most of us to turn our dining rooms into offices. Some of you may be juggling your own job with home-schooling your little ones and fancy all the helpful hacks you can get.
We love a handy hack.
We’re hoping that this little iPhone trick will make sending emails a breeze and will take away that editing stress! Don’t just take our word for it, try it for yourself – you’ll love it, we promise.
