Choosing the best Samsung phone will depend on what you need it for, and your budget. The latest Samsung Galaxy S24 boasts some of Samsung's best features to date and features a sizeable 6.2-inch screen that makes it a little bit Goldilocks – not too big, not too small. If you prefer a bigger screen, you can get the same specs with a bigger battery and 6.7-inch screen from the Galaxy S24 Plus. On the other hand, the Galaxy A55 is more budget-friendly while still delivering a solid set of features, making it a great choice for users looking for a balance between performance and affordability.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has an incredible AI-enhanced, quad-camera system showcasing a genuinely massive 200MP Wide lens backed up by a 12MP Ultra-wide lens and two 10MP telephoto lenses. From crisp low-light shots to stunning wide-angle photos, it's a game-changer for capturing life's moments.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 was quite literally made for selfies – and thanks to its cool retro shape and size, it even works as its own tripod, so you can go hands-free for selfies, and get everyone in a group shot, no trouble. If you’re after a lower-cost choice, the Galaxy A54 also stands up well, with Selfie Focus and an impressive 32MP front-facing cam.

It all depends on your perspective, but we'd say the 7.6-inch fold-out screen of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 is the winner – which is why it's so popular with mobile gamers who want a truly immersive experience. A non-foldable alternative is the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which has a whopping 6.8-inch display, closely followed by the Galaxy S24 Plus at 6.7-inch and Galaxy S24 at 6.2-inch.

Most Samsung phones are pretty efficient when it comes to battery life, thanks to the smart chipsets they have on board. But technically, the Galaxy S24 Ultra has the largest, at 5000mAh. The Galaxy S24 Plus holds its own, too with a huge 4900mAh battery – and all of these devices come with fast charging capabilities, as well as Wireless Power Sharing, so you can share your spare juice.

Though there's no hard and fast rule to it, most of Samsung's Galaxy S and Galaxy Z range phones have a water resistance of up to IP68, including the Galaxy S24 range, and the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5. This means they can be submerged in 1.5 metres of water for up to 30 minutes. Historically, the Galaxy A range is more budget-friendly and therefore comes without waterproofing or a water-resistance rating. However, the Galaxy A55 breaks this rule and features an IP67 rating.
